I am confident I can get you spinning! Whether you have never picked up a spindle before or are currently able to lap spin or park and draft. I can make you more comfortable and confident in your future spinning adventures. We will go over some basic spinning information and terminology; I promise no pop quizzes. But I love sharing my love of spinning and nerd side with some fun science stuff.  Dorset Buttons Taught by Jan Rowell - Saturday Sept. 20th @10:30 am (8 remaining)Come and play with color and stitches to make a petite and unique creation suitable for various applications, from buttons to jewelry to embellishment of your handcrafted fiberwork.  Blending Board Techniques Taught by Terri Drouin-Guerette Saturday Sept. 20th @2:00 pm (25 remaining)Are you intrigued by the possibilities that a blending board opens up but don’t know where to start? Would you like to see what you can accomplish before committing to buying your own? Or maybe you have played around with your blending board and would like to explore some new options. In this workshop, we will start with the basics of applying and removing fiber and the care and cleaning of your blending board. We will then move on to some of the more interesting things we can do with blending boards, such as making matching batts, striping, garneting, etc.

 Getting Started with Punch Needle Taught by Mary Jeanne Packer - Sunday Sept 21st @ 10:30 am (10 remaining)Punch needle is a traditional rug hooking technique that has taken the textile craft world by storm! The needle punching method results in beautiful textures and can be turned into cushion covers, wall hangings, bags, and more. This is a super satisfying craft that is quick and easy, so it’s excellent for beginners of all ages. In this workshop, you will learn design considerations when planning for punch needle art, foundation fabric options, punch needle and yarn pairings, and color scheming too. Included supplies that you can take home at the end of the class are pre-stretched monks cloth and frame, punch needle pattern, and kettle-dyed 100% locally sourced wool yarn. Genuine Oxford needles will be available for you to borrow from the instructor. You need to bring your own small pointy scissors.  C&C (Crepe and Cable) Yarns Taught by Terri Drouin-Guerette - Sunday Sept 21st @2:00 pm (25 remaining)If you looking for new and interesting ways to stretch a braid of fiber, spinning a crepe or cable yarn is a good alternative to a marled yarn. Maybe you’re looking for a different way to combine braids with different colorways. Crepe yarns are a plied yarn and a single plied together. A cable yarn is a plied yarn plied with another plied yarn. These novelty yarns can also be a way to expand your yarn options in fabric construction.
